A collection of trademarks for exported raw silk.
It is a trademark that two Ueda College of Sericulture silk reeler department resurrection is collected from the silk reeler company in the whole country and donated to the school. 1913 It was exhibited in the foundation of a school commemorative ceremony of the age. Raw silk was an important export industry for Japan at the time. These labels contain what foreign recipients saw as exotic examples of Japanese design, with Japanese (and sometimes Roman) characters of English and French text. We can also see how Japanese people of the time saw their country, with many labels bearing the name of old Japanese provinces such as “Shinano.” ,
